The Pond Suite

The original guest quarters at Magic Pond, this suite is in the Main Cottage on the first floor adoining the owner’s home and opens on the wrap-around porch immediately overlooking the pond. The interior features a skylit sofa for reading or sketching, one bedroom with a double bed that looks out toward the wildflower grove, a living area with queen futon sofa, desk, dining area, kitchen with undercounter refrigerator, small sink, compact stove with oven and a bathroom with a shower. Guests traveling alone frequently prefer this suite for it’s very cozy cabin-like character.

Additional Fee and information are as follows:

  • $50. pet fee per stay for up to 2 pets
  • $400. security deposit (payable by check upon arrival)
  • Plus 7% Maine Sales Tax
  • All guests must sign and abide by our Living Green and Waiver of Liability policies.
  • Because we book only three suites at a time, all payments are non-refundable. However, your reservation is transferable provided all guests to whom you transfer your booking agree to our policies.
$135 per night (3 night minimum) | $795 per week | $2795 per month

Room Features

  • Use of both the Main Cottage porch immediately overlooking the pond and the Studio Cottage second story deck.
  • The outdoor dining screenhouse when seasonably available
  • All of the trails and grounds of the sanctuary in accordance with the Living Green policy
  • Easy luggage management with loading zones immediately adjacent to guest suites and parking just steps away.
  • Central or electric heat with woodstove back-up for emergency use in winter
  • Private kitchen with refrigerator, sink, stovetop and oven
  • Microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, utensils, basic pots and dish towels.
  • Private bathroom
  • One set of bed linens and towels per stay (guests expecting to need additional sets are welcomed to bring them)
  • Television with local reception and a dvd player
  • DSL-based WIFI broadband that is adequate for most email and internet needs but does not support video streaming and large, extended downloads. Wider bandwidth is available at the library in Mars Hills just a few minutes away should system updating or other major software/file downloads be required.
  • Natural light and sufficient space for an easel (please bring your own and tarps to protect the floor and other work surfaces), quilting, jewelry-making, sculpting or other types of continuous work set-ups.
  • Under-cover bicycle, kayak and canoe storage
  • Fenced excercise area for dogs
  • Guests staying longer than seven nights are welcomed to free weekly use of the laundry facilities at Magic Pond for clothes, bed and bath linens. (We appreciate our guests staying a week or less sparing Magic Pond's ecosystem avoidable impact by taking their laundry home.)
